Cystic fibrosis: knowing it to face it

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common genetic disease in western populations (in Italy one child is affected every 2,500-2,700 births, for a total of 200 new cases. The types and severity of symptoms can differ widely from person to person.

Management and treatment of CF is a very complex process, demanding of new and effective therapeutic approaches.

Research in this field is crucial for an advanced understanding of this little known pathology for the development of new treatments and specialized care.
